Canadian Central board member Bobby McVeigh and Gary Rogers, vice-president of financial policy both made presentations last week at the annual meeting of the Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions in Bali, Indonesia.
About 275 participants attended the 18th annual meeting of the association. The regional organization represents 44,000 credit unions and financial co-operatives with 34 million members in 24 countries. It receives technical and financial assistance from the Canadian Co-operative Association.
McVeigh and Rogers discussed the role of credit unions in helping members reach their financial goals, new products and services and the challenges of governance.
In addition, Myrna Bentley, CEO of Concentra Financial, presented during a session entitled Building the CEOs Toolkit to Achieve First-Rate Performance.
