SaskCentral is seeking nominations for the 16th annual Norm Bromberger Research Bursary.
The Norm Bromberger Research Bursary provides $2,000 each year to encourage research in the area of co-operatives and credit unions. It was established in recognition of the outstanding contributions made by Norm Bromberger to the development of credit unions and co-operatives in Saskatchewan and across Canada.
About Norm Bromberger
Norm Bromberger served as Research Director and then Chief Executive Officer of Credit Union Central, completing twenty-seven years of service with the credit union system of Saskatchewan. He also played a prominent role in developing Credit Union Central of Canada and establishing other co-operatively owned financial service organizations.
Application Criteria
Successful candidates should demonstrate and/or provide:
- Involvement in co-operatives and/or credit unions as a volunteer or employee.
- A supporting statement explaining how the proposed study will contribute to credit unions and/or co-operatives.
- An understanding that a copy of the completed work will be submitted to Canadian credit union and co-op resource centers.
Candidates who have been unable to secure sponsorship for their study from the co-operative or credit union with which they are associated are urged to apply. All applications will be considered, especially those where the financial support of the bursary is essential to undertaking the research project. Preference will be given, but not limited, to Saskatchewan candidates.
