Bobby McVeigh was a keynote speaker at the recent UK Credit Union Development Education Program in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The program is an intensive five day session that is designed to create a better understanding of the uniqueness of credit unions and to develop ambassadors to promote credit unions locally, nationally and internationally.
The British program is run by the British Credit Union Foundation which was set up in 2004.
McVeigh, a director of Credit Union Central of Canada, spoke about his experience as a director with the World Council of Credit Unions and with the United Nations advisors group on financial inclusion.
He also presented a gift to Marlene Shiels, chief executive officer of Capital Credit Union of Edinburgh, to thank her organization for its commitment to the education program.
