TORONTO -- David Phillips, President & Chief Executive Officer of Credit Union Central of Canada (Canadian Central) is pleased to announce that Brigitte Goulard will assume the position of Vice President, Policy with Canadian Central as of June 16. In this new position, Ms. Goulard will work with the CUCC Board, senior management, and member organizations in identifying and taking action on current policy priorities of importance to the Canadian credit union system.
“I am delighted to have someone with Brigitte’s experience in the financial industry and co-operative sector and knowledge of major policy issues join Canadian Central in this key position,” said Phillips. “She will help us develop a long-term plan to meet priority objectives, anticipate future stakeholder interests and build the organization’s profile as a thought leader on policy matters.”
Ms. Goulard is an experienced policy professional in the Canadian financial services industry having been employed in legal and policy roles with the Trust Companies Association of Canada, the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, Canada Trust, and, most recently, with La Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec. Ms. Goulard also worked with Meloche Monnex Inc. for several years and during that time held the position of Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary.
Ms. Goulard is a lawyer with an LLB from the University of Ottawa and is a member of the Ontario bar.
