Rachel Milan and Joe Agro of Teachers Credit Union celebrate their selection as WYCUP winners.
HONG KONG - Two managers from Teachers Credit Union in Hamilton have won the World Council of Credit Unions' Young Credit Union People (WYCUP) bursary to attend next year's WOCCU conference in Barcelona, Spain.
The World Council of Credit Unions Inc. (WOCCU) honoured the achievements of five young and talented credit union leaders participating in the WOCCU Young Credit Union People (WYCUP) program during the closing ceremony of WOCCU’s annual Conference in Hong Kong.
A total of 19 participants from eight countries were honoured during the ceremony but only five were selected as the 2008 WYCUP winners. Among those five were two managers from Teachers Credit Union of Hamilton, Ontario: Joe Agro, IT Manager and Rachel Milan, Director of Marketing and Community Involvement.
This is the first time WOCCU awarded two winners from the same credit union. Each WYCUP winner receives an all-expense-paid trip to the 2009 World Credit Union Conference in Barcelona, Spain.
Other winners were Anna Corona, AEA Federal Credit Union, United States; Nicholas May, Community CPS Australia, Australia; and Rafal Sokolowski, Copernicus Credit Union, Poland.
