CENTRAL 1 APPOINTS SENIOR VICE-PRESIDENT, STRATEGIC PLANNING & INTEGRATION

Don Rolfe, President & Chief Executive Officer of Central 1 Credit Union (Central 1) is pleased to announce that Helen Blackburn will assume the position of Senior Vice-President, Strategic Planning & Integration with Central 1.  Ms. Blackburn will be transitioning to this new role over the next several weeks with full appointment in late September.  In this new position, Ms. Blackburn will create and implement strategic plans, build new partnerships, negotiate with these new partners and integrate those organizations into Central 1.   The experienced gained from each integration to the next merger will be applied as to create a more streamlined and efficient process. 

Ms. Blackburn is joining Central 1 from Credential Financial Inc., where she holds the position of Senior Vice President, Finance and Strategy. She is also Chief Financial Officer for Northwest & Ethical Investments LP and Credential Financial Inc. and was responsible for overseeing the strategic planning process and directing the financial affairs of both Credential and Northwest & Ethical.

Ms. Blackburn is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years experience in the financial services industry.
