October 20 & 21 - Vancouver
What is PeopleFocus?
This is our second annual PeopleFocus conference. For over 10 years, the
People Solutions Team (formerly the Human Resources Consulting Group of
Credit Union Central of BC) has been hosting conferences and forums to
support the professional development of credit union individuals
responsible for human resources activities and leading people. Last
year's conference was extremely well received with over 90% of delegates
reporting a high level of satisfaction with their conference experience.
The Theme - Take a Fresh Approach
There's a saying, "if you do what you've always done, you will get what
you have always gotten." This year's theme, Take a Fresh Approach, is
geared at introducing you to some evolving topics in human resources and
different approaches to addressing your HR business challenges. By
taking a fresh approach, you will discover increased opportunities and
alternative solutions to these challenges.
We are pleased to showcase a great crop of speakers to invigorate and
revive you with fresh ideas, help you address the challenges of a
shrinking labour market, and improve your credit union's ability to
attract and retain talent. In addition to some carefully picked and
internationally recognized keynote speakers, we have lined up some
credit union, homegrown talent to share their stories of success.
Who's invited?
This conference has been designed to be relevant and meaningful for
anyone, regardless of professional discipline, who is interested in
discovering different ways to address attracting and retaining talent.
You only need to have an open mind and willingness to consider different
approaches to how to get work done. While this conference is targeted at
credit unions and affiliates, we welcome delegates from banking,
insurance and investment services.
What's in it for you?
We learned a lot over the last year about your human resources
challenges and how to further improve your conference experience. At
PeopleFocus 2008, you will:
* have plenty of time for discussion with your peers and for
questions in each session
* learn about a wide variety of approaches to address a shrinking
labour market
* hear more "how to" rather than "what is" topics
* tap into the knowledge of a carefully selected crop of speakers,
many who are recognized experts in their field
* be inspired by stories of success
* take away practical tools and ideas, and
* earn CHRP credits, conference attendees may be eligible to earn
1.5 CHRP credits per hour of the conference attended
We trust you will enjoy this year's conference and the opportunity to
meet your peers in other credit unions. We listened to your feedback and
comments last year, and always welcome suggestions and great ideas. (By
the way, the hotel guest rooms come with coffee makers this year!)
We look forward to seeing you in October!
