inUnison Technology Services names new CEO, CIO, and VP

Calgary --  inUnison Technology Services Ltd. has appointed three new members to its senior executive team. Tim Wasilieff has been named inUnison's Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Connery has been named Chief Information Officer, and Jamie Stewart has been named Vice-President, Partner Services and Planning.

Launched in fall of 2006, inUnison Technology Services provides IT services to credit unions. It is a joint venture between two credit unions from different provinces. The company is a subsidiary of Calgary-based credit union First Calgary Savings and B.C.-based Envision Financial. It's one of the first tangible products of the two credit unions' "Pathways Partnership."

In Canada, credit unions from different provinces aren't legally permitted to join forces with one another -- at least, not by full-scale mergers.

"That's why the concept behind inUnison is so ground-breaking," explains Wasilieff. "inUnison makes it possible for credit unions from different parts of the country to partner, achieving economies of scale and ultimately offering even better services to members. As a federally chartered entity, independent of any one credit union, inUnison Technology Services overcomes legislative boundaries that have previously prevented credit unions from working together across provincial borders."

"First Calgary Savings and Envision Financial have pioneered inUnison with the goal of attracting more partners and co-operating with more credit unions across the country," he says.

Wasilieff said several credit unions from different parts of the country have already shown interest in the services offered by inUnison.

Wasilieff comes to inUnison with a strong background in executive management, having served for five years as Envision Financial's Chief Operating Officer and for 13 years as Delta Credit Union's Executive Vice-President. Wasilieff will continue to serve in the role of Senior Vice-President, Operations, at Envision Financial as he takes on his new position as CEO of inUnison. In recent years he has provided leadership to a host of strategic initiatives for Envision, including its banking system conversion, stabilization projects, loans origination system project, and data management projects.

Connery joins inUnison having previously served as the joint CIO of Envision Financial and First Calgary Savings. Prior to joining Envision, Connery led the IT department at Sierra Wireless, where he was responsible for such projects as the JD Edwards implementation and the construction of the award-winning Sierra Wireless buildings in Richmond. He also has 21 years experience in a leadership role with a major airline, where he directed the company's worldwide business computing systems.

Stewart takes on his new role at inUnison formerly having served as Envision Financial's Assistant Vice-President, Program Integration. Before joining Envision in 2005, Stewart worked at Deloitte and Touche where he was a senior manager for western Canada. Stewart specializes in operations improvement, IT management, software development, and
